The place, time, and some of the faces may change, but IP Stack bested BGP in the Optera Football League opener yesterday, 3-1. Behind three Paul McRae touchdown passes to his favorite receiver, Tom Szczerbowski, and superior defense by Szczerbowski and rookie Kirk Ireland, IP Stack took a commanding 2-0 lead before the BGP'ers scored on a trick play.

The new BGP team featured returning captain Pablo Frank and two newcomers, Rob Hutchinson and Dave Smith. Unfortunately, the three-headed quarterback situation, several dropped passes and 2 interceptions dashed BGP's hopes for a turnaround. IP Stack on the other hand, was turnover free and methodically moved the ball down the field before hitting the homerun ball.
